The Art of Being Once Removed
Now for those of you scared that there’s gonna be no pumpkin to decorate in this piece, you can breathe a collective sigh of relief, because Lauren Conrad’s Ilana Saul today has plenty of pumpkin to decorate, with inspiration from terrazzo tiles.
Before you say wait a minute, and wonder how a pumpkin’s going to be tiled, that’s the once removed beauty part of this little pumpkin project, there’s no terrazzo tiling, or any form of tiling involved, Lauren’s Ilana relies on their arts and crafts to recreate the terrazzo tile…. on the pumpkin.
A little background about what the terrazzo tile is before delving into this lovely activity, terrazzo tile’s hot in the interior design world right now, terrazzo has been around for centuries consisting of little flecks of marble, granite, or quartz set in polished concrete, commonly for flooring, countertops, and backsplashes.
So to make the terrazzo pumpkin, all you have to do is get yourself some pumpkins of course, 4 to 6 colors of acrylic paint, and small paint brushes where one can follow images of terrazzo tiles to make their pumpkin so there’s help to make large and small flecks.
Now if you were lucky, and rich enough to have terrazzo tile installed in your home recently from a kitchen remodel, or a major home renovation, then you should have no trouble taking your invested pumpkins so they can fall in line with the look of your home to last all season long.
