Today’s the day for you to get one more ounce of personal self-care in, on Saturday, New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo, has issued a stay at home order on the entire state of New York to go into effect tonight at 8 p.m. EDT to slow down the spread of COVID19.

First off, 100 percent of the workforce must stay home, but it excludes those workers that are essential and have to work which are police, fire, medical, postal workers, supermarket, drug store, and media people (TV, radio, internet, and print).

It also means that all non-essential gatherings of individuals of any size for any reason are temporarily banned, as well as all barbershops, hair salons, tattoo or piercing salons, nail salons, hair removal services and related personal services ordered to cease business as of 8 p.m. EDT last night.

Governor Cuomo also extended the stay at home order to the Department of Motor Vehicles, temporarily closing offices for in-office visits, but did refer those to go online for license renewals and other transactions, and also extending licenses and permit expirations.

Overall, New York State residents must stay indoors, pre-screen all visitors by taking their temperature, wear a mask in the company of others, stay at least 6 feet from others, and do not take public transportation unless it’s urgent and absolutely necessary, it’s all part of the New York State on PAUSE effort.

As leisurely places in New York state too have closed since last Monday at 8 p.m. EDT; Broadway is having an actor’s benefit tonight at 7 p.m. EDT via Broadway.com and Rosie O’ Donnell with an array of stars because they too, and Broadway of course, have been affected by COVID19.
