Magic is a tradeshow for spring/summer 2026 that took place at the Javits Center in NYC on September 14 – 16, 2025. This took place at the same time as its sister show Coterie which I will talk about later. Magic is all about trendy fashions for juniors, young contemporary women and anyone whom is a fashionista such as myself seen in the photo above. Clothes, shoes and accessories were featured along with some beauty brands who were up and coming. For further information go to www.magicfashionevents.com.
MAGIC TRENDS: Cropped pants as seen on the mannequin above were the newest trend while bell bottoms continued. A streetwear trend that I predict to be big is pants that have drawstrings at the bottom edge of the legs. Dresses have full skirts, lace up backs, tie backs, and flounced hems along with puffed sleeves. Everything is adorned with bows. Denim trends saw jeans hit around the belly button, which is lower on the waist than last year’s high waisted style and the wide legged trend is still happening. Cowboy boots and western ½ boots are still aren’t going away either as a trend.

This is the perfect fitting collection for the plus size gal. It’s all made in NYC of USA fabrics by a designer seen in the upper lefthand corner with her mannequin. This lady is an expert on fit from her many years working on 7th Avenue as a sample and pattern maker for major high-end brands. The reason her clothes fit so perfectly is in the pattern grading because she doesn’t make the shoulders bigger but just the waist, hips and bust for the perfect fit. Many times, on a plus size lady the skirt rides up in the back but this collection makes the skirts ¾ ” longer in the back so it never rides up. If you notice the sleeves on the model, they are cut to fit the upper bicep of a plus size lady. The fit model as seen modeling the black dress is a size 18 and she looks like a size 14 because the asymmetrical zipper makes the figure seem smaller. The collection is sized from 14 -32. Priced from $92.00 – $500.00. You can order at www.envnewyork.com.
COTERIE NEW YORK
This show was the same time as Magic as I mentioned above. The difference is better fabrics, higher prices, more embellishment as seen on the bags in the photo above. Lots of investment dressing and items you will have in your closet for years to come because they are classic.
TRENDS: My slogan for this show is “Lifes a Beach” because I saw so many printed cotton, flounced hem, maxi dresses in bright colors that were perfect for resort life. One new dress style that seemed to be popular was the shirtdress done in cotton pinstripe print fabric. Bringing back old Hollywood glamour was a 1930s satin dress cut on the bias that would be perfect to go ballroom dancing in. Matching vest and wide legged pants were a hot new trend. Belt trends are in 2″ wide obi sashes done in leather or suede and some with metal buckles. Chain belts are still fashionable with newness in enamel over gold. In shoes I saw in flat sling back pumps in Metalicas as being the new look. Neon colors are going to be the newest up and coming trend for spring/summer 2026. Purple Dew
What attracted me to this collection is that it wasn’t another collection of skinny chains like I’ve seen in the market for the last 10 years. This 18K gold plated over brass jewelry collection has a fresh point of view with its link chain necklaces adorned with charms. Look at the necklaces in the middle photo that have a pendant in the middle and lays flat in your throat area that are perfect to wear with a V neckline top. For all the 1980s fashions that are making a comeback there are Japanese seed bead and crystal beaded button earrings in 1 and 1 ½ inch styles for pierced ears. Semi-precious stones such as lapis lazuli, rhodonite, amazonite and turquoise are used throughout the collection. Everything is hand made in New Jersy by Artisans. Retail priced $125.00 – $250.00. FAMOLARE
You might remember this brand from the 1970s and 1980s because of its wavy sole but it’s been updated now. The shoes are lighter in weight than the originals and have a slightly wider last because due to women wearing sneakers all the time the feet have gotten wider. The upper is made of Mexican calf leather that is long wearing and they are leather lined too. With the bell bottoms and wide legged pants these are the perfect shoes to wear with them as females did in the 1970s. The sandals have adjustable buckles on the back straps so the strap won’t fall off your feet. I tried these shoes on and they fit great and are really comfortable to walk in. Colors the different styles come in; snow, red, cement, honey, blood, copper, earth, cognac, and coal. Priced from $148.00 – $198.00. These are in stock so you can get them quick so order at www.famolare.com.
