BOLD & ECLECTIC IN ACTION

Chuck Connelly and his work were in retrospect tonight in lower Manhattan here in New York City. This art gallery close to Canal Street brought out the true definition of oil on canvas telling a bold story at any given moment. DANIEL PLUS LAUREN got a VIP look of the provocative depth that Chuck’s paintings provide with an island of their own meaning. Definitely nothing short of impactful with Chuck Connelly laying out the Neo-Expressionist life that Connelly lived where tumultuous turns out to be rewarding.

The Full exhibition is open daily starting tomorrow until April 16.

This exhibit can be seen from Tuesday through Saturday by appointment only from 3pm to 6pm.

With so much tremendously choice paintings from the late Chuck Connelly on display, DPL NY has rested on a few paintings that stand out.

ARTIST & MODEL

There are 2 narratives told here with Chuck’s conception here, artist is this misunderstood figure who answers all preconceptions that he is dark and fashion is out of the ordinary. You also have the model who is the absolute idolization of this artist who wants to show off the human trophy he found. Colors on this oil and canvas put tremendous definition on “Artist & Model” as green is the choice color for the brilliance of the artist with flaws. Then red apparently is the female model to say the least, her red spells out the attraction she delivers not only to the public, but this green artist who makes this model beautiful.

THE LOVERS

Happiness can never be duplicated in this way outside the surrounding these true lovers feel about this more than moment of passion. From the deep depths of the euphoria that was 2011, “The Lovers” takes you into the world of a man who’s totally naked and ready to make love the just bikini clad woman who wants it now. As the millennial generation and pop culture in 2011 were encountering sexism in all dark, action-packed, and optimistic levels, “The Lovers” that is this fine work by Chuck Connelly puts this moment in time in a true moment of pleasured happiness. No argument about how sensual, and sexual this is.

BIRD GOING HOME

Shifting gears to a more elicit approach into the core of our lives, we now direct our eyes to an unlikely place, home. Yes, some of us may want to go home at some point in either end of night, or end of journey here in New York City, but home is within our own definition. For “Bird Going Home”, this wild turkey apparently is looking for something near and dear to him outside the end result of the henhouse. This happy turkey wants to avoid being the Thanksgiving Day statistic and just pardon himself to go back to the farmhouse he once called home. The blessing here is to have the freedom to not wait for the Leader Of The Free World to say that you can live happily at any time on your own terms.

OVERVIEW

This retrospective of Chuck Connelly which filled tremendously to capacity at Leonard Gallery tonight celebrated voluptuous illustration. The enhanced use of oil on canvas brings on intimacy, loneliness, city history, and biblical tellings to definitive meaning. All is too familiar without it being boring or mundane as we love the Chuck Connelly retrospective with the feeling that he has never left us. One’s mind is truly at ease with the super-celebration of dismissive and passionate moments brought to us optimistically and optimally to give us a real life excitement deep down we all crave.
