For The Good Of The World

Five and a half years ago, Lauren Conrad, with her FIDM friend, Hannah Skvarla, started something special that benefited female artisans around the world called The Little Market, where this non-profit gave worldly female artisans the opportunity for the products to be sold globally, and finally the process of generating an income, so female artisans can support their families and themselves, so today’s “Asking For A Friend” talks with Hannah, who goes into the history and mission of The Little Market.

Lauren and Hannah reiterates that The Little Market was conceived out of a trip to Africa back in 2012 that both Lauren and Hannah took where a moment in Africa on a bumpy road that Lauren and Hannah discovered amazing aspects about women in Africa and their artisan ambitions, The Little Market is a place where one teaches a female artisan to fish instead of giving them fish so those women can be self-reporting, and feed themselves all their lives.

There’s a whole movement behind the existence of The Little Market, it’s not only to buy an artisan’s product upfront instead of on loan, but to raise awareness about human rights in all parts of the world, even here in the United States where poverty, hunger, homelessness, border patrol, human trafficking, and such matters hurting our nation do matter, and must be addressed in the proper and immediate manner now along with what Lauren and Hannah do with The Little Market.
