City Hard

For those of us who’ve stepped into New York City for the very first time, there’s nothing but amazement at what’s in front of us, it’s that feeling that we need to be in this city more than one time, it’s an addiction in a good way, we need to come back as often as we can, if not move here eventually, that’s the same feeling Zang Toi felt when he stepped into New York City his first time, it’s the very thing that drives Zang Toi used for his fall/ winter 2020 collection that was walked at Pier 59 Studios in New York City back on Saturday, February 8 during New York Fashion Week.

In Zang Toi’s words, the “New York, New York” collection was inspired by the city that Zang Toi fell in love with the very first time he stepped foot in 38 years ago.

The chic Upper-East-Side contrast with the downtown art scene that inspires the sophisticated blacks and grays, as well as the vibrant pop-art red, pink, orange, blue, and taxi-cab yellow.

The “New York, New York” grand finale of the runway program showcases a lineup of hand-beaded iconic New York skylines, which radiates the non-stop 24/7 life in all kinds of shades and colors that define New York City everyday.

There’s no stopping what Zang Toi and his talented creative mind can put from ink and paper to thread, fabric, and dyes, it’s evident every time in the Zang Toi collections over many seasons.
