The United States Department Of Labor released more staggering unemployment numbers today as 5,245,000 more claims were filed over the last week as COVID19 continues to reek havoc on the economy, though its 1,370,000 less than last week, and not at the historic 6.8 million two weeks ago, the total number of jobless claims in the past 3 weeks now stands at 22 million.

For now, all non-essential jobs are impacted by stay at home orders, there’s no telling if essential jobs will be affected down the line once the surge passes, but one industry taking a devastating hit is media, Condé Nast on Monday announced that its staff would be taking pay cuts, furloughs, and layoffs since COVID19 has impacted their projected outlooks.

In order for COVID19 to end, not only is a vaccine needed now than later, but a new outlook on the world health system, which starts with a new outlook on the economy.
