Liberty Fairs held its first webinar today under the COVID19 pandemic, partnering with Scaling Retail to talk about “Real Time Retail”, a series that’s a conversation about the current climate of the fashion industry with selected retailers in the menswear market.
Communication: The first step before pivoting your business to a new direction is reaching out to your landlords, vendors, distributors, suppliers, etc.; explaining the situation you’re in with your money supply in COVID19; it’s also reaching out to your consumer base that you need their patronage at this time, as well as creating product they’ll want to buy to keep them buying.
Continuity: After addressing the elephants in the room, now you can start your action plan on pivoting from physical to virtual presence, giving your consumer base to accessibility it needs to buy your products, educating, informing, and navigating them on your new direction.
Collaboration: Now’s not the time for typical competition because there’s no market for it, we all must come together or at least be on the same wavelength to produce essential items like face masks and enhancing safety in our retail space.
Identity: With competition, it’s always everybody fighting to show off the same time at different spaces, it’s an insider’s hope that we get back to having our own identity in our brands and retail space, where it’s almost not competition.
Innovation: There’s always a new way to produce and design menswear, that hasn’t changed because of COVID19, you still have to stand out in your collection even more now since you’re pivoting to virtual.
