Evan Hirsch NYFW Couture Spring/Summer 2025 show took place Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the Starchild Rooftop in the Civilian Hotel on 305 west 48th Street, NYC. With large windows and sunlight flowing through it was the perfect place to have a presentation. The collection was called “Memories, Drapery and Milestones”. Evan dedicated his show to his grandfather, Dr. Herbert S. Krane who died of a brain tumor.

When I interviewed Evan about his collection, he told me that his fabrics were from draperies, kitchen curtains and other home textiles from his childhood home that his parents just sold. That is where he gets the title of his collection from.  Since I was able to get up close to the clothes, I realized they were of very beautiful and high-quality fabrics that could have only come from home textiles. You ask why I say this, because of my work in the textile industry for many years. The fabrics were heavy with vivid floral prints and colorful plaids. His dresses and gowns are one of a kind and he mainly sews them all himself. He is a master at fit and sewing.

Now let me tell you about his beautiful collection. I have been to Evan Hirsch fashion prestation’s a few times before but I feel this one was the best one yet. He knows how to embrace a womans figure no matter what their size. He makes custom clothes to fit your body so he told me he can make you a dress in size 0 -32.  What is special about his collection is his transformative gowns. Meaning that he makes them so they can be worn either short to the knee or long to the floor with just a twist of fabric at the waist. So, in other words, you’re getting 2 dresses in one garment.

I loved his cottage core collection made with floral print curtains. His hi-low ruffle dress worn with white tights and white Maryjane Shoes was so adorable. Another outfit in the collection was made with green gingham kitchen wall paper done in a capelet and skirt that belled out because he was cleaver and put wires in the tiers. A preppy print in pink and green plaid strapless dress was made with pink corset that laced up in the back. All these dresses are perfect for an outdoor event on a hot summer day.

Evan is a master at gowns that show off a woman’s shoulders and hide her hips. In my photo I show how a black cape dress that transforms into an ombre satin ball gown. The photo with the designer has his model in burgundy gown with a rosette train in the back that will get you noticed at a gala from the back. In the bottom left corner of the photo is a black structured gown that flares out with a floral hoop peplum that holds its shape with boning. In another pic collage is green one shoulder dress made from living room curtain liners with palm leaf appliques. I’m loving the black one shoulder gown with the bold print front train.
