A REAL CONNECTION
Hours before Olivia Rodrigo released “The Cure” early today as her 2nd single off her upcoming 3rd album, Olivia stopped by Z-100’s “Elvis Duran And The Morning Show” on Thursday morning to let the world in on what its like to make music and have fun too. Olivia walked into the Z-100 radio studios here in New York City in the most real and approachable way to connect with her fans and all the radio people around her. It wasn’t about the same-ole pop star walking in and miserably calculating their every move that must occur. Olivia made you feel welcomed and accepted you as her very best friend you were not rushing to leave.
Elvis Duran joked with Olivia about how if a guy breaks her heart, she’s gonna write a hit song about them. Olivia says her household was filled with music constantly, with her dad loving bands like “The Cure”, QR, Depesche Mode, and New Order. Olivia’s mom was into riot girl bands like, Babes In Toyland, and White Stripes. Olivia can attest to one thing, music does change your mood.
When filming “Drop Dead” in House Of Versailles”, Olivia pictured herself as Maria Antoinette because of was such an inspiring and beautiful place. With over 3,000 rooms to be exact, “Drop Dead” felt like it was a dream at all hours of the day where you can run around and dance around to sing about how well a first date went.
So many things you want to learn about Olivia Rodrigo just in this radio interview alone thanks to Olivia’s team who are warm and welcoming compared to other teams that may be miserable. And that my friends… is “The Cure”.
