Custo Dalmau, the creative genius behind his legendary Custo Barcelona, dazzled once again on Sunday with his spring/ summer 2017 collection over at New York Fashion Week.
Custo decided to abandon the less is more theory by simply saying that more is more with an elaborate pieces that are 100% hand-sewn, as well as consisting of more wealth of materials, more creativity, more powerful, and more intense silhouette.
Custo Barcelona’s drive this season is returning to richness of multiple fabrics in every piece so harmony can be achieved creating exceptional pieces.
Taking a step up from prints, Custo’s combination of threads produce highly visual fabrics such as silky sequin, transparencies with shiny finish, multicolored patches, metallic, and Lurex fringe.
Color palates come flashing out of the sky with optimized versions of rose petal, aged gold, white, pink, black and bright texture, and mauve-vivid colors.
Custo Barcelona’s men’s edition got a lift too with the Way More philosophy of applied shirts with bright embroidery, detailed skinny cut trousers, semi-transparent shirts, and sequin t-shirts along with jackets to complete this more movement.
Celebrities in attendance were Kelly Berglund, Amber Coney, Violett Beane, ,Chantel Jeffries and Kayla Brianna. The catwalk was graced by both of Custo’s daughters who were walking the show.
