Girls Run This Sh**

On May 8th at 538 Park Avenue in New York City, the David Lynch Foundation (DLF) will host the 2nd Annual Women Of Vision event to benefit women and children survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
The event will honor fashion icons Fern Mallis and Stella McCartney, who will both receive Humanitarian Awards for their contributions to the fashion industry and tremendous support for women in need.
Eco-conscious jewelry and accessories brand ALEX AND ANI will serve as the presenting sponsor of this event.
The brand is committed to furthering DLF’s mission through its MEDITATING EYE collection, co-designed by David Lynch, which contributes 20% of the purchase price of each piece to the foundation.
Proceeds from the luncheon go towards helping to fund a New York City initiative to teach Transcendental Meditation (TM) to 1000 women survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault.
The David Lynch Foundation provides Transcendental Meditation (TM) training to numerous at-risk populations.
TM is a simple, easily-learned mental technique, practiced for 20 minutes twice daily, which has been proven to reduce acute and chronic stress and stress-related disorders, decrease anxiety and depression and help individuals overcome addictions.
TM also develops the brain, increase creativity and sharpen focus and produce a unique state of “restful alertness.”
More than 370 studies have been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals documenting the effectiveness of TM for reducing stress and stress-related disorders while improving health, cognitive function and behavior.
The National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense have provided nearly $30 million in grants to further study the benefits of TM for heart health and post-traumatic stress disorder.
