Let’s Mom Again
There you are, raising your first-born child, feeling you became an expert at the whole diaper changing thing late at night, getting to know your child, getting sleep finally, and the breastfeeding process, now you feel like your on top of the world, but only to crash quickly down to earth because you, your first born, and husband now have to get use to the idea, before quickly adjusting to there being another child in the house, so today, Lauren Conrad puts her trust and faith in good friend, Leslie Bruce, to guide you through the wilds of transitioning from one child to two.
The first tip Leslie provides is that growing your family could be bittersweet, because you’ve gotten use to the idea of being a trio where all the attention goes on one child, but now has to be divided, but having these feelings at first are normal, also plan for extra quality time with your first born, next is you won’t be as panicky with your second child like you were with your first, you’ve become an expert so to speak, you’ll also feel stronger love for your second because you can foresee the future more clearly than with the first, and set aside 15 minutes with your first born so they don’t feel left out or revert to baby like tendencies.
Leslie also stresses that your mama instincts will be a lot sharper, faster, and surprising with your second born, baby number 2 will be less expensive than the first since first born’s things are passed down anyway and baby number 2 don’t know the difference, babies are easier than kids since babies can’t talk or express their thoughts just yet, guilt may ride in because you’ll feel you’re not giving enough time to each child, life won’t change that much since your world’s been rocked already by the first born, and sibling love May surprise you in more ways than one.
