New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo, went to task today in his daily briefing that was held at the Javits Center in New York City saying that we need aid in every capacity now to fight COVID19, it cannot wait, the first order of business is to save lives, leave no one behind, no matter age, sex, or race.

Governor Cuomo was also displeased with FEMA only supplying 400 ventilators when the state of New York needs 30,000 ventilators, the governor also challenged FEMA to decide on those who get cared for, and those who don’t.

Governor Cuomo says the apex of the coronavirus in New York State will be realized in 14 to 21 days, but chastised the federal government for its 4 week or longer period on went ventilators could be delivered, challenging the federal government to release ventilators they have stock of, as well as supply capital to those that can produce ventilators, but it has to be in a 14 day period, not longer than that.

Governor Cuomo is also dissatisfied with the speed the federal government is moving, its more than just ventilators, it’s supplies they need, help from bodies, and they cannot have those already working nurses and doctors work around the clock, calling for retired doctors, nurses, and other health officials to fight.

Gov. Cuomo also needs 140,000 beds to care for patients with COVID19, and that 100 percent, or 100,000 beds would still be short of the amount of beds needed; Gov. Cuomo also says that we need as much medical supplies as possible, without hesitation.

Another key fact Gov. Cuomo points out is that New York state’s numbers are the highest in the country is because of New York State, especially New York City has the highest number of global travelers, those coming into all parts of the state of New York from other countries, as well as traveling out to other countries.

Governor Cuomo says the state of New York is not the only place where COVID19 is a problem at large, other cities and states can encounter spikes in coronavirus cases, that’s why New York State has the resources it has, but still needs additional key resources with help also from the federal government, as well as be a leader to other communities across the country.
