Exit, Stay Home

Shubert and the 17 theaters it owns has informed its administrative, sales, and marketing staff, who are 30 percent of Shubert’s workforce, have been furloughed because of COVID19, reports Variety today, though it does not include the stage and box office crew, those that are being furloughed will get to keep their health insurance for 3 months.

Skeptics who have been following the Broadway shutdown from when it started back on March 12 are pessimistic about Broadway’s big comeback, some say July, others say September, but Broadway as it stands right now is not due to light up again until June 7.
