The United States Department of Labor did not led up today with jobless numbers, 3,839,000 more people filed for unemployment because of the COVID19 pandemic, though 603,000 less than last week, the last 5 weeks up till now add up to over 30 million people who are now without work.

For those that are now on insured unemployment, it’s up to 17,992,000 who are getting government assistance while out of work, leading those effected to see other means of support, either through savings, pension, stocks, or finding an essential job; plus there’s claims that haven’t gone reported which is about 16 to 20 percent more of the workforce.

Many businesses have had to make drastic decisions about how to go forward, whether it’s furloughs, layoffs, or closing up shop, small businesses are encouraged to become an essential business to produce medical supplies, while others alike can file for the Paycheck Protection Program.

The livelihoods of businesses and their supply chains are at stake, as well as our food supply which could quickly run short if there continues to be a shortage of food plant workers sick from COVID19.
