‘Tis No Season

Gucci made the drastic decision on Sunday that it is pivoting its collections into a whole new direction, it’s dropping seasonal collections of fall, pre-fall, spring, and summer, and going season less, knowing no time of year of when pieces are suppose to be, thanks to COVID19, and plummeting sales crippling the fashion industry, and all other industries.

Gucci will only have two collections a year that will catwalk, following suit with Gucci is Saint Laurent, who’s also on the lean to only have 2 collections of year walk the runway, responding to the COVID19 world of social distancing, and change to comfort wear, leading again to thin sales everywhere else.

A strong commentary from the CFDA & BFC about how COVID19 has crippled the fashion industry strongly recommends designers, brands, and retailers slow down their merchandise deliveries because inventory stacks up too fast, and know when it’s the right time to sell product, practice sustainability with collections and travel, and get strictly back to creativity instead of hard focus on fast collections.

And applauding these efforts which is sure to have a domino effect on every house in fashion are Fashion Mingle, who’s been devoted like many influencers in fashion to stress about season-less collections, because there’s no telling when the new COVID19 normal will give away to the normal we’re use to.
