The United States Department Of Labor once again today reported a staggering amount of unemployment claims filed, this time at 1,542,000 over the last week, putting the number of over 44 million now out of work in over 10 weeks.
Though, it seems like numbers don’t match up to 2.5 million jobs added in May, these are weekly reports that are passed along, where as the job surplus of May only represents that month, not for any week.
Out of the 44 million people without a job, only half that number being 22,392,250 are receiving unemployment benefits, where the rest have yet to receive compensation to try and survive in the COVID19 pandemic.
Right now, the nation needs as much support as possible, finding a solid solution to our unemployment crisis not only with COVID19, but as a whole, and make sure recent protests with Black Lives Matter doesn’t jeopardize our progress with COVID19, or doesn’t put us right into a depression.
