
The United States Department of Labor still churned out staggering numbers today concerning unemployment, 1,427,000 out of work individuals filed for unemployment over the last week, cracking the 50 million mark of unemployed workers in the last 13 weeks.
Despite seeing a drop to under 20 million in insured unemployment last week, and staying under 20 million, insured payouts increased back up by 59,000 to 19,290,000 from 19,231,000, which was revised from the week before.
And for the month of June, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported higher than expected job growth, 4.8 million jobs were added, nearly double from the amount added in May, and the unemployment rate fell 2.2 percent to 11.1 percent.
