The United States Department Of Labor today reported that unemployment numbers were at 898,000, still under a million, but those who filed actually went up from 53,000 from last week’s number, revised up by 5,000 from 840,000 to 845,000.

In spite of unemployment filing up from the week before, the insured unemployment rate was down 0.9 percent at 6.8 percent from 7.7 percent (also revised by 0.2 percent from last week’s 7.5 percent figure), those on insured unemployment was apparently lower too at 10,018,000 with it being 1,165,000 lower than last week’s 11,183,000 (revised from 10,976,000).
