Dig The Roots
Negris Lebrum Fall/ Winter 2021-22 Homecoming Collection revealed itself tonight in a whole new way, Negris has gone virtual via the CFDA Runway 360 show for New York Fashion Week, also right out of its New York City element, but in Negris’s Design Director, Travis Hamilton, current hometown of Houston, Texas.
As Negris Lebrum redirected its runway show to the lone star state, Negris staged their guerrilla style show in a public park that hacks back to the foundation of the collection where inspiration was once the norm.
Travis found inspiration for his FW21 Homecoming not by his current hometown which could be due to the COVID19 pandemic, but his true roots that take Travis back to his true home on the Louisiana Bayou, leading to Travis’s through and through Houston staging inspiration.
Negris Lebrum’s thick black and gray textured tweed patterns found on its skirts, dresses, blazers, button-down shirts, and pants bring out the rugged exterior Travis found in the public parks of Houston, stemmed from the Louisiana Bayou.
Homecoming follows suit with leopard patterns, metallic and shining texture of broken glass black, patches of black over grey, traditional black patterns capped on turtleneck and sleeves, blocks of white out of circles, and solid black rounding out Travis’s optimistic back to basics Homecoming for what we hope will be a return to normal when fall and all of 2022 take place.
