Sourcing In A New World

Informa Markets today with their trade show component of Sourcing at Magic took at look at the sourcing trends in the apparel business for Spring/ Summer 2022 and Fall and Winter 2022 and 2023, seeing seasonal colors of orchid flower and mango sorbet with transitional color of olive oil, silver grey, and French cotton, plus big ideas of embracing softness, outdoor boom, work leaisure hybrids, craftism, #techlegent function, and textile texturing.

The trend narrative includes customers re-accessing their place in the world in uncertain times and focusing instead on their well-being, putting emphasis on simple pleasures and less is more living with a huge entry into fantasy and escapism.

Trends also include an even greater emphasis on sustainability that drives brands to produce collection at a much slower rate with organics and ethically responsibly sourced information provided, modern function one can adapt to that enhances mood for you to re-enter back into daily life after COVID, plus transition into transeasonal classics involving feel good classics and hand-crafted fabrics aspiring on nostalgia.
