StyleEsteem came together because at 29-years-old, Sonya was diagnosed with breast cancer, so Sonya created the turban to deal with the hair loss from chemotherapy, but mainly because Sonya was getting married, and people take a snapshot of your beauty as you walk down the aisle.
Many pieces are great for the religious bride like the Orthodox Jewish, and Muslim brides. The collection is extremely feminine, Sonya’s turbans are designed with a twist on the traditional turban. Turbans are influenced by Eastern cultures, woman that are modest want turbans that honor their culture, and religious beliefs because an Orthodox woman is required to cover up her head once she’s married, and a Muslim woman is required to cover her head once she reaches puberty.
Fabrics are sourced worldwide, trims are used to add value and drama to the look along with ostrich feathers, pearl-encrusted trims, and Swarovski Crystals, fabrics include hand-embroidered fabrics, silk satin, and taffeta.
