CURVE NY
Curve NY took place February 5 – 7, 2023 at The Javits Center in NYC. This is an upscale tradeshow all about ladies’ lingerie, sleepwear, bras, swimwear, panties and now the show started featuring men’s underwear. Newness was in lots of lace sets in matching garter belts/panties/ soft cup stretch lace bras or bras that have lace cups with underwires and no padding. Instead, the bras have center seams to make the cup fit around your breast. Bodysuits that are compatible with miniskirts and matching robe/nightgown sets. In the photo above is the famous NYC Showgirl, Pearls Daily wearing lingerie from the brand Chantelle X. the photo below are examples of the newest trends in lingerie that I saw at the show. NETTE ROSE
The designer, Megan, whose body you see in the photos above named the collection after her two grandmothers. She is from Cape Town, South Africa and everything is handmade there also. Her slogan is: “She is a wild one. With a gentle soul. Who always sways to her own rhythm and dresses for herself.” What the slogan means is that these lacy garments are to be worn out of the bedroom (meaning not just for sex) but for you to enjoy wearing every day to make you feel good about yourself. The colorful lacy styles are feminine, fun and sexy. The line uses up to 40% recycled fabric and has embroidery on lace. All the bras are unlined with a stretch band under the bust. BOY BOX
Edwin Exaus co-founded this brand in 2020 during the Covid Pandemic because he gained weight in his thighs and his underwear didn’t fit there anymore so he felt extremely uncomfortable. From there he wanted to develop an underpants line that would be comfortable on his body. The name ‘Boy Box” is a pun for your butt. He researched on how to make fit, fabric and what would be comfortable on his body for two years. How he made the collection comfortable is by only using one layer of cotton/elastane blend in the fabric instead of the usual two layers in men’s underwear so there is less chaffing down at the thighs. The waistband is spandex instead of elastic for even less binding. I love the colors of power blue, sea breeze and indigo. Boy strap $26.00, boxer brief $28.00, boy brief $24.00. I know it’s Spring out now but it will be fall again before you know it. Founded in 1992 and a line sleepwear of high quality made In Germany with the use of mainly German fabrics. Natural fabrics such as silk, cotton knits, model, cashmere, brushed cotton, cotton flannel, and fleece are used. A tailored collection of oversized flannel night shirts, empire waist long night gowns with ruffle details at the neck and cuffs and brushed cotton flannel pajamas. Everything is extremely warm on cold winter nights so you stay comfy while you sleep. They also make loungewear and zip front/trench style bathrobes for cold winter days. Sizes XS – XL.
