Evolution New York tradeshow took place July 29 – 31, 2023 in Manhattan. This show is about the softer side of lingerie and sleepwear. Lots of tradition silhouettes in pajamas, robes and nightgowns in satin and lace. What you really don’t see are control garments or molded cup bras. Vendors that weren’t mainstream showed lingerie on the racier side that was sexy, flirty, lacey, sheer and colorful. All in all, everything catered to the luxury customer. Lots of playful fashions for the female that wants to feel special for her sex partner and herself. LOVE & SWANS
Love and Swans is a brand originally from Russia. Now everything is made in Turkey using Carvico, a high-quality brand of stretch jersey fabric from Italy, machine embroidery but the beading is hand done by Turkish ladies. I found this collection to be extremely whimsical and different than anything I’ve ever seen because of all the details in it. The brand has four different collections ranging from the lowest to the highest price points. 1. The affordable lingerie line has no beading but some machine embroidery as shown in the lower right-hand corner of my photo above and retails $70.00 – $85.00. 2. This lingerie collection has beading and embroidery that retails $140.00 – $170.00. 3. Ready to wear as seen in the blue bustier and yellow halter tops in my photos have lots of beading and embroidery and are perfect to wear with jeans for day or evening. FLEUR OF ENGLAND
The designer Fleur Christacos designs the old-fashioned way; by hand to get this luxurious collection started. She starts with hand sketching for the embroidery pattern, then draws the silhouettes for the collection. She had some of sketches in her booth and her work was amazing. Portugal is where this collection is made for the upmost quality. French eyelash lace made in Calais, France where the finest laces in the world are still made is then put on tulle by machine. The next step is the lace is stitched on to the silk satin. Luxury details on the bras are silk straps and 24k gold bra strap sliders. Styles are suspender belts for stockings, no padded cup bras, sheer night slips that could do double duty as a slip under a dress and matching robe that are trimmed with the eyelash lace to make the them extra feminine and pretty. Bikini and thong have matching satin color embroidery. Bras have silk encased elastic in the back so the elastic doesn’t rub on your skin. Colors are red, forest green, black, white, blush and olive. NIKI ROXX
Niki Roxx, the designer’s love of music from the 1970s and 1990s and graphic prints of the 1960s Psychedelic era were the inspiration for her collection. Made in South Korea of 80% nylon/20% Spandex and 85% polyester/15% spandex. Unlike cheap and thin fabric workout clothes that you can see thru; this fabric is thick and you can’t see your skin thru it. The use of a double layer of fabric on the stomach, legs and bust gives those areas extra support/ hold. Niki did something that I hardly ever see in workout wear and that she made sure the crotch didn’t show a camel toe. For those of you who don’t know what a camel toe is then I will explain. It’s when the crotch of your pants is so tight that the outline of your female genitals protrudes and takes on the shape of a camel’s toe. All the fabrics are quick dry, ultra violet 50+ protection and have great fabric retention for a no sag look. Seams are overlocked for added strength while moving. She even uses bust darts to give the bust more shape. Prints put on a heavier fabric so they don’t need to be double lined. These are clothes for surfing, skateboarding, gym, swimming. Clothing like this can go out on the town after your sport with just a skirt or long blazer thrown over it. Styles are catsuits, bodysuits, long sleeve tee shirts and shorts.
