A tradeshow for buyers and press that is all about lingerie, swimwear, sleepwear and control garments that took place at Javits Center in NYC on July 30 – August 1, 2023. This show had American, European and South American brands exibiting. Here you will find traditional lines along with new up and coming brands that featured sexy lingerie. I know you want to know all about the newest trends in this market so I will break it down by classification. BRAS: unlined, softcup, underwired with skinny straps. Some newer styles that are good if you wear a C cup and below that are stretch lace in unlined cups with no underwire and just a band of elastic underneath the cups. Please see the bras in the manaquin photo for expamples. PANTIES: thongs continue but the newness is in stretch lace boyshorts and organic cotton panties. CONTROL GARMENTS: have expanded the range of skintones that they come to cover more people’s complextion. SLEEPWEAR: Lots of robes for cold wheather along with the tradition matching short robe and slip nightgown set. This is the corporate company name for many well-known brands such as Fantasie, Freya, elomi, and Goddess. You might be familiar with these high-end brands that are sold in major high end department stores and specialty stores all over the world. After viewing the fashion show with all different shape models and talking with one of the designers that had been with the company for years “All I can say is that is that if your panties, bras, swimwear doesn’t fit you like the styles on the models then it’s time to switch to one of these brands!” Why you ask? Because these brief style panties stay on your butt and don’t ride up as you walk and the bras fit perfectly on the center of your back. The designer told me that these undergarments are fitted on over 100 real women that are in motion and not mannequins. As you see in my photos this is the correct way that bras and panties should fit. I watched the fashion show 2x with the models walking up and down the runway and not once did their underwear move on them! Many of the styles are perfect for a big busted lady and women with a full/flat butt. Oh, you have a small chest size with big boobs then they have a brand to fit you that comes in sizes 32F – 34GG. These brands really cater to ladies with a bigger bust, curvy gals and the plus size market. with bras in sizes 28 – 56 and cup sizes D – O. The lingerie is priced from $60.00 – $80.00. Swimwear as seen in my photos is sold by bra and panty size for a more exact fit than L XL XXL XXXL XXXXL. At this time, they don’t have a website that you can buy off of but you can buy these brands at Norstrom, Bloomingdales Department Stores in USA and 100s of specialty stores.
UNDER GOODIES
Whatattracted me to this collection besides the bold colors was that they were old fashioned slips and Pettie Pants. I wear slips all the time under my unlined dresses and skirts to keep them from riding up plus they are the answer for see thru clothing. The designer is from the South in USA and she wore dresses from a young age to keep cool. Her mother told her she had to wear a slip under them but her grandmother wore Pettie Pants that were popular in the 1920s and 1960s when skirt lengths were short. The designer decided to take an old pair of grandmas and make them better in a women owned factory in Dallas, Texas. Reasons to wear Pettie pants (as shown in the upper right corner of photo) is they keep your butt covered till mid-thigh under skirts and are much cooler than bike shorts because they are made of nylon and tricot with stretch lace and organic cotton/bamboo in the crotch area. This is what works under sheer skirts too. Unlike bike shorts they won’t chaff your skin. The other style is the mini slip with attached brief panties that are perfect under miniskirts so when you bend over you won’t see your butt or crotch like you would in a thong. Other style of clothing slips and Pettie Pants are perfect for are: wrap skirts, circle skirts, (especially if they are above the knee), caftans, lose pants and denim shorts with the lace of the Pettie Pants showing underneath the shorts. LOVE AND HATE
Luxury lingerie and swimwear made in Poland. The fabrics used were designed exclusively for the brand in sheer mesh satin and polyester and Estain. Some styles are brief and thong panties with matching triangle bras, demi bra corsets and one shoulder bodysuits. Retro styles are high waisted brief style panties in silk and sweetheart style unlined and underwire bras with center middle seam in cup to make the cup fit smooth over the bust. For a racier and playful look see thru bra and pantysets in netting fabric as seen in my photo above. You may wonder how these bras look on, well the center and horizontal seams make the cups fit smoothly over the bust. Bra straps are elastic, wide sides and the back is in strappy elastic with 3 rows of hooks and eyes for stability to make the bra sit at your center back and not ride up. Thong panties are sheer with a matching-colored cotton crotch. The lingerie is sized XS – XL, priced $70.00 – $250.00 and colors are white, beige and black.
