Evolution Concept took place February 3- 5, 2024 in NYC. The show is about boutique brands with new and interesting concepts in ladies’ lingerie. Many of the brands are foreign and some were new to the show. All in all, the lingerie that I saw was colorful, lacy and racy and very feminine. It’s all about the softer side of lingerie and not the control or shapewear side. What is new is tailored man style pajamas with faggoting and piping trim. MARY JO BRUNO
Mary Jo Bruno’s concept is where comfort meets luxury. She has been is business over 35 years and that is why she is a pro at designing and knowing what the customer wants. Laces are soft that stretch and made in USA and Japan are used along with Swarovski crystals. See an example of the beautiful lace in my photo. Everything is made in Redondo Beach, CA. Soft bras are adorned with ruffles and bralettes have matching boy shorts and bikinis. Baby Doll nightgowns in soft tulle originally a style from the 1950s are back and here they are double lined so they aren’t see thru. Other styles are a chemise with double ruffles in a rose print lace that have a matching short and long robe with bow accents. Another vintage style she has brought back from the past are bed jackets that are used for when you’re sitting upright in bed reading. They are used so your arms and shoulders don’t get cold. The orange rose and leopard prints are made especially for this brand.

LENORA
The brand is named after the designer’s daughter and was inspired by vintage movies clothing and fabrics. I’m only touching on the travel accessories that I thought were very different than anything I ever saw in the market. Lenora has other beautiful lingerie and pajamas for women also. A very feminine collection with a Southern charm about it.
She has created travel lingerie envelopes just to carry your bras and panties in so they don’t get dirty touching your clothing in your suitcase. The travel envelopes are machine embroidered in soft pastel colors on white pique fabric on both sides. The fabric is stain resistant and you can spot clean it with laundry detergent and water. They are lined in poly satin throughout the bag. The lining matches the trim color. Size is 12.5″ X 9.5″ and priced at $95.00 Zip closure on the inside and the flap snaps shut so you can be assured that your underwear doesn’t fall out.
Makeup bags are in a clear plastic exterior to protect against makeup and water. The inside is white pique fabric with pretty embroidery in flower, butterfly, hearts and peony motifs. These cases can be wiped down on the inside and outside. Styles are a train case that you can stand up bottles in, sized 10 x 8x 5 inches. Designed in Copenhagen, Denmark since 2010 and created by 3 people. The purpose of the company is to create lingerie, loungewear and swimwear with a focus on fashion and sustainability. All factories are in Europe and have to uphold human rights. Fabrics are non-toxic. The concept for Underprotection is under meaning under your clothes and closest to skin. Protection meaning sustainable with no chemicals used. Loungewear, swimwear and lingerie can all be mixed and matched.
Loungewear is made from recycled cotton, Tencel made with non-toxic chemicals and 100% wool. The pieces can be worn inside or outside. Styles include pants, shorts, dresses, jumpsuits, sweaters and short sleeve tee shirts. Prices around $140.00 each piece. Sizes XS – XL.
Bras are soft cup with no wires and in recycled polyester stretch lace. Darts in the bust give the bust shape and a stretch under band gives the bust support.
