Sculpture Artist, Jakub Trajter, whose art work does not hide the struggle of human transformation, will show off his definitive sculptures at Smile Design on April 21 here in New York City. Jakub doesn’t hide that changes in a man or woman’s evolution doesn’t come without struggle. Jakub’s metals illustrate magnificently the levels of growth and transformation before turbulence and split. And at the top, we recover nearly back to our solid footing, but not without bruise gained.

Man starts out as one form of himself, then discoveries take place to create a “Metamorphosis”. From a definitive form, look at this bronze sculpture where the sculpture is done at the front. The real beginning comes from the back, because before you are solid, you are a floating figure who needs to explore. Exploration lands you on people, places, and things you never knew. From that point on, your soul becomes more definitive, turning you from a hollow figure into a solid body, planting yourself in a place you know you want and need to be.

Bronze is not gold, nor silver, but it is a prominent metal Jakub uses for “Transformation”. It’s man yearning to learn more, yearning to explore, and finding freedom in the process. The rough bronze sculpture begins from the back with man behind standing still, then stretches out to leapfrog down to the front. Its transformation of literally going from bronze to gold challenges the laws of nature, or the expectations that man must honor, creating a better man who’s open and free.

For “Women In Motion”, the shiny bronze borrows from “Transformations” as the female is caught between two blurs. A woman finds herself in a constant struggle, her head and chest that are roaming with liberating thoughts stretching out. But it’s her sitting and legs that are at a standstill, keeping her in place for better or worse according to her society. Women carry every want and need they learn about, but are battling with society norms, and want to break away from limitations. The overall outcome is that women are at the place they want to be, without limitations, with freedom and expression at their disposal.

With Jakub Trajter, you will experience the not so limited use of metals that tell the story of the multi-level struggles in human nature. Man and woman have their own limitations they want to toss out into the fire for a new and everlasting liberation to live how they choose, and love better than they know. We also realize that our solid structure is not guaranteed to last all the way to the top. This is where we come to terms that the only things we can control, we must solidify to continue our journey till the tower is done, showing off all destruction.
