CURVE EXPO fall 2024: The lingerie trade show experience by Patricia Ann Parenti

Curve took place at the Javits Center in NYC, August 4 – 6, 2024.  The practical part of this show is dedicated to upscale brands of bras, panties and swimwear for all sizes of women. Silky sexy lingerie that makes a woman feel confident, sexy and attractive is the other part of the show. Last but not least is high quality exercise clothing with a high percentage of spandex. My photo above shows the newest trends and colors in workout wear, control garments, bras and panties on the mannequins. BEAPPEELING

This is the most beautiful collection of pasties that I have ever seen! The collection is about wearing colorful jewelry attached to a pastie on your breast, to make yourself, well look appealing for your sex partner. In the bottom left corner, you can see the “Queen of The Striptease” famed burlesque dancer, Pearls Daily dancing in a pair of red pasties on her breast. 

The line was started by a woman who had breast cancer surgery many times. Each time she went in to surgery she held a boobie party the night before she went to the hospital. She wanted to give all the ladies at the party tassels but couldn’t find any at the price or quality she wanted so this inspired her to create this collection. Body positivity for everybody (men too} is what she designed this line for.

You can wear these many times, because the adhesive is latex free and hyper-allergenic. They come in this pretty gift box you see in the photo and that is where you will store them for safety when not in use. The actual pasties come in a rainbow of colors in sequins, embrodiary and rinestones. Tassles are removable and come with jewelry such as pearls, beads, and crystals. EVEDEN GROUP

The Eveden Group consists of the following brands for bras, panties and swimwear:  Fantasie, Freya, Elomi and Goddess. These brands are known to fit a fuller breast and curvier figure than most brands on the market. My photo is from their runway show right in their booth at the Curve Tradeshow. These ladies modeling are plus size models and notice how the panties fit perfectly over the butt and don’t ride up? I think the number one complaint with ladies and wearing full panties is that they ride up to the crack of your butt . BUT these brands won’t do that because the designer fits many women with different style panties in the design room to make sure the women can walk in them with no panties creeping up. 

Notice the perfect fit of the bra too? More on bra fitting later. I see many full busted, plus size and cury women wearing the wrong bra because they don’t have any idea what the right fit is. These brands are the answer to the perfect fit and support of your breast. No sagging breast on these two ladies. By the way the bras and panties are matching and come with pretty lace details in a rainbow of colors. These are English brands but I’m going to break down the brand sizes by American sizes. Freya 28C – 38P; Fantasie 30D – 40M,; Elomi 32J – 46P; Goddess 34D – 56P. So, ladies if you find yourself not fitting into most of the brands in the stores or online because your boobs are too big then try one of these brands. FIT FOCUS BY EVEDEN

Yes, it’s me the blogger getting fitted for the right bra. Notice my certificate saying that I am now an accredited Eveden fitter? Well I took two classes  at the Curve Expo, by the fantastic teacher, Freddy that has been teaching bra fitting 25 years and is the best in the business. I’ve started my own bra fitting shopping service. This is only in the NYC area because I need to go into the fitting room and work with you. This can’t be done on Zoom either. Since 68% of USA females are size 14 and up, many are wearing the wrong size bra but I will work with you to make sure you will get the perfect fit, I’m size inclusive and make no judgements. I even will fit mastectomy patients perfectly with their prosetects.

I thought I knew how to fit myself correctly but I was wearing a too small size bra in the upper left hand corne and that is the bra I came to Fit Boot Camp with. The lady with the tape measure is measuring me to find my size. We learned in class how to measure the correct way to get the perfect fitting bra for anyone. The bottom right corner is me modeling Fantasie bra that fits me correctly. As a personal shopper/stylist I have taken many women bra shopping before and fitted them correctly. Age has made my breast get bigger so I was wearing my old bras when I was thinner.

TIPS I LEARNED IN FIT FOCUS BOOTCAMP: 

1. You should get bra fitted 1x a year by a professional, when you had a baby and gained or lost weight.

2. By lifting your breast, you stand up straighter/taller.

3. All bras in this class are by Fantasie, Freya, Elomi, and Goddess.
