Magic and Coterie tradeshows to the women’s fashion market took place on September 22 -24, 2024 at the Javits Center in NYC. Magic show caters toward the young contemporary and trendy woman but Coterie is all about upscale classic clothes but still fashionable with an emphasis on better quality fabrics. Many foreign brands at Coterie also. Both shows are part of MMGNET GROUP WWW.MMGNETGROUP.COM
I walked every aisle of both shows and wrote down the trends that I saw to bring to my readership. Say goodby to your ripped jeans/skinny Jeans and hello to wide legged and bell bottoms with high waist. The newest wash is a lighter and less a dark indigo. Instead of rips I saw frayed hems in bottoms. Pants are wide legged with pleats. Tops are still puff sleeves but ballon sleeves are newer. Ruffles and bows are accents on everything. Skirts are long and full with micro miniskirts being the big trend for the junior gal. Prints go big in florals, tapestry or leopard. Bubble hems are the biggest look in skirts and dresses. A big trend coming on strong is a long vest over shorts. Jackets and sweaters are cropped at the waist or midriff length for the young contemporary female. Peplums are making a comeback on jackets, sweaters and blouses also. Gone are the sky-high spike heels as in seasons past. Kitten heels in a low heel pump are the new style and go perfectly with all the lady-like dressing I saw at both shows. Newness comes in a mesh fabric with rhinestones in sneakers.

COTERIE

.NADJANI.
All fabrics, designing and sewing are done In Indonesia. The beautiful and colorful digital abstract and floral prints are what struck me about this collection. I found out they all are done in house. Since this is a Muslim country all the clothes are designed for modesty. I liked the body of the polyester/cotton fabric that wasn’t see through nor will wrinkle easily, Even the polyester organza fabric wasn’t see thru like you would normally see in America. The reason the fabrics are so great is that they are double faced which means high quality. Styles are pleated skirts to the ankle with matching blazers, circle skirts and blouson jackets, windbreaker jackets with double pockets and hoods, jumpsuits with elastic bottom hems and carrot style front pleated pants with matching trench coats. All styles are meant for layering which is good for travel. To complete your outfit there are matching print bucket hats. This is a very pretty and colorful collection for anyone who is religious or just want modesty clothing. Sized S – XL. Priced $120.00 – $250.00 retail. They ship pretty much worldwide.
