BOLD & SHEER

Lisa and the rest of her trailblazing Gen Z friends ruled the Met Gala tonight here in New York City, taking up the theme of “Superfine Black Fashion”. A powerhouse darling in K-Pop, best known for her “Apt” single with Bruno Mars. Lisa was in a diamond littered semi-sheer black mini-blazer with medium size handbag of like detail, sheer tights and black heels, plus a tiny pair of designed brief to justify being pantsless. Lisa also had some pearls, statement necklace, and statement ring to celebrate the emboldened impact “Superfine Black Fashion” has.

It was thought to be a dead trend of the 2010’s last taken up by millennials, but elegant and dazzling pantsless style is back and here to stay. We’ve seen pantsless celebrities everywhere not just on the red carpet or at the clubs, but even on their errands where paparazzi are blessed with the breathtaking image. Sometimes if you’re going to a fitting, buying clothes with your personal assistant, or just going to dance rehearsal for your music video, the pantsless women of Hollywood are doing it up no matter what. Another famous pantsless celebrity at the Met Gala tonight, and overall both on and off-screen is Charli XCX.

As said by Vogue who lays down the law of the 2025 Met Gala…. This year, the event celebrates “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which will be on view from May 10th to October 26th; The new showcase explores the importance of clothing and style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora, and will be arranged by 12 characteristics of Black dandyism.

To reflect the theme this year, the dress code for the 2025 Met Gala red carpet tonight is dubbed “Tailored For You,” a sartorial mood that is “purposefully designed to provide guidance and invite creative interpretation.” Given the exhibition holds a strong focus on menswear and suiting, you can expect that many Met Gala looks tonight will also lean into tailoring—either in classic and sleek ways, or in a more theatrical and avant-garde manners. (The Met, after all, has a long history of the latter.)
