UNCHARTED WATERS
The reality of our nation’s fragile economy at the moment causing consumer confidence to drop precipitously have hit home in the fashion industry. Among the many accessories and apparel sectors seeing a dramatic downturn, lingerie, activewear, and beachwear are no different. Therefore, it was announced Friday that this year’s FEMMY AWARDS originally planned for August 5 by The Under Fashion Club, Inc has been postponed to next year on August 4, 2026. It all came down to the non-profit losing its primary financial support because of financial uncertainty of the intimates apparel industry.
The FEMMY AWARDS are an annual event celebrating trailblazers of a fashion sector that inspires you to be outgoing whether it’s at the beach, the gym, or underneath your clothes. DANIEL PLUS LAUREN last year attended the red carpet portion by illustrating leaders who were Mayur Vansia, Kerry O’ Brien, Ann Usinger, Mariela Rovito, and Mr. Liu Zhenqiang, Bull Liu who shape this industry with their innovations to improve sustainability, and spark unparalleled confidence for women of all ages and all sizes. Tina Wilson, the President of The Under Fashion Club at the time stressed that’s it’s not just about leadership in intimates, but creating a path for the future leaders who continue daily to redefine intimates, activewear, and beachwear.

Sonia Vizcaino Laney, the current President of The Under Fashion Club, Inc., needs your donations now more than ever to continue its mission of helping students continue their dreams of pursuing a career in intimate apparel. Creating a tomorrow for talented students not only sustains this non-profit, but also sustains the intimates industry as we need fresh innovations to respond to a consumer’s changing needs.
