Malan Breton had his Spring/Summer 2026 New York Fashion Week Show in support of caringkind which is all about a not-for-profit organization for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. The show was held in the beautiful and historical Leman Ballroom on Board Street in Manhattan. Malan also wrote the musical score for the show which was very lovely. I’ve been going to his NYFW shows for over 10 years and he never ceases to amaze me with his gorgeous eveningwear for men and women.
His couture collection was all about making a grand entrance and being seen at charity balls, black tie affairs, award ceremonies, and any party that requires formal attire. His creations are worn by the biggest NY socialites and major celebrities because of their ability to stand out in the crowd and to be a show stopper. Malan Breton has been in many TV shows, won awards, made movies and has been in the press too many times to count. You can do an internet search on him but I’m here to talk about the fashions on the runway on Friday, September 12, 2025.
The men’s collection: tuxes were featured in shiny silver lame fabric trimmed on the edges with green or black piping on the edges of the wide lapels, sleeves and pocket flaps worn with matching elephant bell bottom pants. Perfect for the MTV music awards. I loved the metalic silver double breasted trench coat that can be worn over a black suit or tuxedo. If metalic is too glitzy for you then be made the same style tuxedo in turquoise green that is perfect to wear to all your spring and summer formal events. For the times when you just want everyday clothes, the tux jacket was done in a brown color matched with orange trousers that were straight legged and can be worn for business or a casual occasion where you still want to feel dressed up.
The ladies had many ballgowns that you will be noticed in and not blend in the background at a formal event. The use of many shades of green from evergreen to seafoam green made this a pretty spring collection. Malan is known for his use of color and not just showing plain black although there were a few black gowns on the runway too. My favorite gown was a strapless big poofy 1950’s influenced style in tulle fabric. The black opera gloves and obi sash belt with a big front bow made the gown look modern. If you’re tall and thin he had a gold one shoulder column gown done in eyelash fabric that is perfect for a roaring 1920s event. You can match your man in a silver metalic fabric tux with silver glitter trim on the edges of lapels and pocket flaps worn with matching elephant bell bottom pants done with silver glitter down the outer seams of the pant legs.
All of his creations are custom made to order. Please go to his website for further information WWW.MALANBRETON.COM.
