The theme of the collection was called “SONG OF THE WINTER SIREN!” The inspiration for Malan Breton’s Couture Fashions is about; Mythical beings have walked the shadows of our imagination for centuries, Teaching us that hope can exist where we see only darkness. In their stories, magic breathes, and the world feels wide enough for wonder.
Leman Ballroom is a beautiful space where his NYFW show was held on Valentine’s Day 2026 and was part of EPN Fashion Week.

I have been going to Malan’s NYFW shows and presentations for over ten years now and he never disappoints me with his tailored collection for men and women. His clothes are timeless and of the best quality fabrics. He used lots of patient leather in black or red in coats for women which can be worn day or evening. Bell bottom pants ruled but with lots of strappy details on the bell part of the pants making them look different than other designer pants. Men’s bell bottoms were worn with heavy tunic length sweaters that had rolled up sleeves or 1970s inspired tomato red leather jackets with ivory piping around the lapels, cuffs and around the hem. Women’s bell bottoms came in a tomato red /cream plaid boucle with a matching a retro 1970s fitted coat trimmed with black piping that is perfect for fall weather with a turtleneck underneath. His coats were very fitted with wide labels. The bright yellow trench coat for guys is the perfect city coat for all seasons.
Now, for his show stopping evening dresses that you won’t find yourself coming or going in. The one I loved the best was a 1950s influenced style with a red full skirt and a white bustier top but what made the dress unique was the white peplum over the top of the skirt. His gowns were sensational in a red tulle ruffled skirt that had an asymmetrical sleeveless top attached to it. You will make a grand entrance and exit in the black coque feather floor length coat. The grand finale model had on a white tulle (many layers) circle skirt supported by a hoop skirt like the ladies wore in the 1800s that swished on the floor as she walked down the runway. The bodice of the gown was black, off the shoulder and tight fitting. Many of the evening style dresses and gowns were topped off by fascinators by Mimi Monroe which completed the look.
