DEPARTURE & COMING HOME

Taylor Swift at 12:01 a.m. EDT today dropped to the world her newest song for Disney Pixar’s “Toy Story 5” that’s “I Knew It, I Knew You”. With a return to Taylor roots in Country music while keeping a touch of pop, Taylor keeps this song very upbeat. Taylor sings about someone she knew for a very long time, and knew from very young that they’d be the one she would love.

No angry tones of that sort for this Andrew Stanton imaging of Taylor Swift singing “I Knew It, I Knew You” years ago. Taylor also thanks Randy Newman for the gorgeous sonic tapestry he’s gifted for Taylor and the “Toy Story” world. Taylor then hands down thanks Jack Antonoff who wrote this “Toy Story 5” song adoring the characters that made the world laugh. And who’s Taylor enjoyed since she was 5 years old.

This was Taylor’s way of departing her pop music aesthetic for the moment, and coming home to true country grit she’s cut her teeth through. It was basically second nature for Taylor once she picked up the pen and went from there. Doing a song for “Toy Story’s” Jesse felt like a new challenge which Taylor enjoyed doing. It’s also one of the many reasons why Taylor Swift now has a net worth of $2 Billion according to Forbes.
