It looks like the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on 45th Street off 8th Avenue on Broadway here in New York City has found a new tenant to replace “Moulin Rouge” after this July. “Paddington: The Musical” which is a smash hit on London’s West End, will make it right at home starting March 30, 2027 when the production starts running previews. The show will officially open on Sunday, April 18, 2027. This joyous news was announced today on Deadline and by producers Sonia Friedman Productions, Studiocanal and Eliza Lumley Productions on behalf of Universal Music UK.

Director Sheppard said, “Paddington approaches life with curiosity, kindness and an unwavering sense of adventure, and what an adventure Broadway will be. It’s a dream come true to be bringing this joyful show to New York and I can’t wait for audiences to meet this very special bear that we all hold so close to our hearts.”

“Paddington: The Musicial” hits all ages unlike no other production, and coming to NYC will only enhance that curiosity and success.
