Designer, Vaishali Shadangule, introduced Daniel+Lauren today to their brand-new fall 2017 collection at UBM’s Stitch trade show presentation here in New York City at the Javits Center.
Vaishali’s vision behind the collection that’s her namesake comes from the journey of a Chaatak, a bird who’s whole life is lived and passed waiting to drink the rain water that comes in the rainy season, being the only water this bird ever drinks.
In the spiritual journey behind the Chaatak collection Vaishali puts forth, Vaishali carefully focuses on details making her own fabric involving hand techniques with the ability to create handmade & handwoven textures.
Vaishali prides herself in using leftover fabrics from pieces already constructed to create new pieces like mini-blazers and other pieces that have knot design and are inspired by nature made entirely out of love through the eyes of the chaatak.
Vaishali Shadangule draw inspiration from her ability to observe and listen, leaving her designs to speak for themselves.
Vaishali’s passion in this collection also includes draping, leading Vaishali not to use conventional silhouettes, but to create her own silhouettes allowing for a piece like the blazer to be flowy.
Vaishali’s fall/ winter 2017 collection successfully brings out the meaning of the Chaatak, and all its experiences from the rainy season it waits all its life for.
