Let’s Pretend We’re Fifth Harmony

Don’t get anybody wrong, togetherness is a good thing, it’s not always black and white in spite of what the media wants you to think, collaboration is a better way to look at it, and it works better when two have been best friends all their lives, that’s the key here at New York Fashion Week as Ghada Al Buainain X Harlienz walked their fall and winter 2019-20 collection on the Pier 59 Studio runway late today here in New York City, bringing attention to the relevance of Qatari culture while breaking the barrier of conservatism.

To be technical, the collaboration birthed by Ghada Al Buainain X Harlienz is called “You In Me”, “You” stands for Harlienz and me for Ghada Albuainain, these are Qatari based designers and best friends in real life who teamed up to expand their reach.

Ghada Albuainain is a jewellry designer while Hay Aladsani is a fashion designer, both come from a conservative culture where all women wear the same thing, it’s changed in recent years, but change is coming real slow.

Both designers like to take risks while also staying relevant by bring new ways to wear modest wear and jewelry.

This collective that is Ghada Al Buainain X Harlienz is sure to make an impact in the style scene, drawing positive attention to Qatar as a region and its pool of emerging designers who are talented to say the least.

Witnessing this runway show was so refreshing as bold and bright colors came out of this collaboration as the fashion scene of Qatar begs to beacon on the world, let alone Qatar.
