Vogue Magazine reported today that the Met Gala which takes place every first Monday of May at the Metropolitan Museum in New York City will not take place this year, with no definite date of if or when it’ll take place in 2020 because of concerns over the coronavirus.

The Met Gala’s back door cancellation comes as New York City orders all non-essential business close up shop by 9 a.m. Tuesday morning, President Trump and the Center for Disease Control just announced gatherings of no more than 10 people allowed, and The Met itself reporting on 2 employees showing symptoms of coronavirus last Thursday.

The Met Gala is the equivalent to one’s high school senior prom, where all of the fashion world, as well as all of Hollywood come out to celebrate the massive achievements in fashion each year, now the Met Gala will possibly have to wait till 2021 as the coronavirus clamps down on all daily life, needing to be eradicated as quickly as possible.
