Broadway To You

Andrew Lloyd Webber announced today that he’s launching his very own streaming service on YouTube appropriately titled “The Show Must Go On” starting this Friday, featuring performances of his productions throughout his prestigious career, reports Variety.

Andrew’s YouTube channel will be available free of charge every Friday at 2 p.m. EDT for 48 hours, this week’s first stream will be “Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” from 2000, followed by 2012’s adaptation of “Jesus Christ, Superstar” the week after, and other productions in the coming weeks.

Viewers will also be encouraged to donate to Broadway related charities, as actors and crew alike are taking a major hit from being out of work during COVID19, seeking support from IATSE in the midst of historic unemployment claims released today.

As Broadway has taken incredible steps to stream up its work for all of us stuck at home while extending a helping hand to Broadway workers, streaming was first floated by yours truly (Daniel plus Lauren) 3 weeks ago with live-streaming as Broadway closed, and can still work once things after things open up again, and before the public is viably ready to travel out to see live shows again in one place and one place only, on Broadway.
