Trade One For The Other
The Curve Expo team which resides in New York for their trade shows at the Javits Center every winter and summer held a webinar today concerning the intimates market, how comfort-wear has become the source of everyone’s go to pieces when it comes to intimate wear, even pre-COVID19, hosted by Kristen Cassi-Zummo and Todd Mick.
In this session, it was realized that shape-wear, comfort-wear, and sports bras were now rising stars for intimates while traditional bras and panties saw decline due to a lack of innovation, shape-wear dominated the intimates based on special occasion pre-COVID19, but shape-wear’s success is now up in the air since stay-at-home orders have been enforced.
Comfort-wear dominates like never before because there’s no need to dress formal or business casual everyday now that we work from home or have to stay home to stop the spread of COVID19, and most people do their work in comfort-wear if not in their underwear for the most part, because they have to teleconference with other colleagues who are now at home too.
Sports bras also fall in the comfort-wear category, as well as any bottoms along the same line since we no longer need to constrict our bodies for work or events.
And more powerful than people missing out of meeting up with friends more than going to restaurants, or Walmart as the place for a bear market, Target for a bull market, even seeing what kind of trends develop post-COVID19, is the fact that ladies choose neither traditional bra or sports bra, they go bra-less.
