Less Waste, More Earth
Fashion Mingle and its Mingle Mastermind Group today buckled down for another weekly webinar on the climate of the fashion industry, this week’s guest is Runa Ray, who’s best known for creating sustainable fashion, which has become the new trend post-COVID19, but learning “How To Integrate Sustainability Into Any Fashion Business”.
According to Runa, a substantial amount of garments, yarns, leftover fabrics, and materials get discarded every year without ever being used, which can tally up in landfills in garment districts globally, leading to more pollution and use of carbon footprints.
This leftover waste can easily be recycled into additional clothing and accessory collections, as well as using earth-friendly and organic materials for an even more socially conscious collection that fits into any environmentally friendly business model that younger generations are more aware of.
From the time COVID19 started, trends in fashion have been comfort and sustainability, a moment in time where we pivot from fashion in a heartbeat to fashion that’ll last us for a significant amount of time, going from season to season-less, and relying more on organic fabrics that are free of cruelty.
