Hanging Onto Happy

Informa Markets through its entity of Sourcing At Magic, presented an apparel sourcing trends update for the fall and winter of 2021/2022 February 26 about what brands and designers will be taking up for the upcoming season, stemming from the perils of the COVID19 lockdown, and where consumer’s minds want to me during this unprecedented time.

It’s no secret that consumers are spending way more time at home because their jobs and COVID19 restrictions have them sheltered in place, so consumers are wearing comforts rather that fast fashion, but they’re looking to nostalgia to escape their new COVID19 normal.

Comforts will be super enhanced to be high-end fashion so the new comforts trend of the moment can be cashed in on, while brands do whatever they can to justify their existence through fashion at a higher pricing point.

Warmer and darker colors are expected to be used in this high-end comfort new normal to embrace the nostalgia that consumers are looking for in their lives right now, plus newer and current pieces will too be trans-seasonal, moving beyond this season, and into next season until it’s definitely okay to declare a return to true normal after economic woes, and of course the COVID19 pandemic.
