Vartali Hair Salon (created by Vartan Guedelekian) just below Park Avenue here on the east side of midtown Manhattan, had a big party tonight for its 46 years in business, with a V.I.P. only event that celebrates the hair destination that caters to New York’s elite, with weekly visits by Carolina Herrera, and past celebrity clients such as Renee Fleming, Laura Linney, and Gwen Stefani. LA Presse PR firm owner, and fashion curator, Bonnie Bien, brought her expertise in to organize Vartali’s 46 years containing a web of resources ranging from press to the New York Fashion Week runway. LA Presse PR brought inspiration in from her Fall 2022 “Jane Morgan: In My Style” show to celebrate the 70’s and 80’s retro hair styles, as well as the gowns from the Jane Morgan collection.

Taking you through the eras of hairstyles, the Vartali anniversary looks by Jane Morgan begins from a tumultuous time being the 1960’s. Look One is the Mont Streitfeld of Strega where you see a a pantsuit puffed up and volumed out in ostrich feathers, paying homage to the hair rollers style molding one’s hair. Look Two leaps forward into the 1970’s with the Gunter Project 2 that’s also known as Gunter Ruecker. It’s a black tuxedo in 3 pieces, consisting of a blazer, skirt, and white ruffle shirt, along with the updoo providing this very blonde hair voluptuous presence. Look Three takes it back down to the 1960’s with Donald Brooks, the black velvet dress with classic puff sleeves. A conservative yet bold classic gown with darker blonde and waves to celebrate the elegance of simplistic beauty.

Leapfrogging back up into the 1970’s, this time it’s a more expressive and wilder time of hair and fashion, celebrating also the 1980’s, especially the year 1989. Enter Look Four with the Rubin Panis look that spans wild meets conservative with black sequined cocktail dress with ostrich feathers. Jane Morgan is best known for singing for President George G.W. Bush. In this dress, plus urban black hair styles from both the 70’s and 80’s influenced the liberal then conservative attraction. Fast forward 20 years to 2009 as we celebrate Look Five with Stephen Yearick. This look consists of nude gown with pearls and sequin as this grand assortment of garments and hardware where Jane Morgan sang for Jerry Weintraub at the UNICEF Ball. This short blonde hair do has all the innovative and modern feels of a digital age that’s bright, modest, yet powerful to answer the call of the times, as well as the look.

Vartali Salon is evidently a landmark, where New York State legislator, Rebecca Seawright, recognized Vartan Guedelekian for creating an institution that shapes the hair styles of prominent celebrities, and Manhattan’s east side, declaring a citation that remarkably celebrates 46 years of Vartali Salon being in business. Vartali Salon hair stylist, Piet Sinthuchai, was also on hand to help Vartali usher in a new era of hair styling, as well as duly note all the game-changing work this establishment has made on key people’s looks near and far. Vartali’s close friends, associates, and clients also were on tap to celebrate 46 years of Vartali Hair Salon in business.
