New York, NY — March 7, 2024

Carhartt, the renowned workwear brand synonymous with durability, innovation, and a legacy of hard work, will be honored as Company of the Year at the prestigious 2024 American Image Awards. Established in 1889 under the motto “Honest value for an honest dollar,” Hamilton Carhartt created the now-iconic bib overall and soon propelled Carhartt from a humble loft in Detroit to the forefront of the workwear industry.

Carhartt’s journey from its modest beginnings to becoming an internationally recognized brand is a testament to its commitment to quality and innovation. Today, headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan, with more than 3,000 associates worldwide, Carhartt remains family-owned and managed by the descendants of its founder, ensuring that the core values of integrity and hard work are ingrained in every aspect of the company.

One of Carhartt’s notable successes is its ability to reach both up and down-market consumers. Their ability to seamlessly blend utilitarian workwear with contemporary style has solidified its position as a go-to brand for both its core consumer base seeking functional apparel as well as a global fashion-conscious crowd. The latter exemplified by their recent collaboration with Sacai.

The 2024 American Image Awards, set to take place on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 will celebrate Carhartt’s role as a leader in the industry, setting the standard for quality, durability, and ethical business practices. Past recipients of the Company of the Year Honoree include Ralph Lauren Corporation, Gap Inc., HanesBrands Inc., Birkenstock, Marc Fisher Footwear, and Camuto Group.
