SIZING A NEW DIMENSION

No generation has sparked an unflattering no on the norms of fashion than GEN Z. For the first time ever, possibly due to economic circumstances as one factor, fast fashion is not cool, season less trends are in. Consumers are seeking out a real human connection to the apparel and accessories they buy, sometimes a cause bigger than them. MMGNet with Fashion Snoops reveals the men’s spring and summer trends of 2025. Broken down into 4 categories being Convergence, Honest, Movement, and Devotion.

CONVERGENCE

Welcome to what’s quick becoming a universe dictated by technology, the latest iteration we all lose sleep at night over is AI. It’s said that artificial intelligence will operate every human means possible, that there will be no room for even touch. But that’s only the fear, AI for one is not going away, though it doesn’t mean we can use AI to innovate nature, enhance authenticity, and rely on organisms to shape fashion. As we become curious on using AI to create, causing Convergence, the mood is morphing silhouettes that are organic and futuristic. Color palette includes sulfur, glazed cherry, lava red, and galactic blues balanced with black, bouncy, mint, and voltage. Men’s Contemporary items include refined cargos, digi shirt, modified windbreaker, and techno tayloring. Young Men’s involve bowling shirt, future utility, boxing shorts, and hologram denim. Men’s accessories include hybrid trainer, textural slide, wrapped frames, and industrial – amorphous. And men’s key patterns include fragmented speckles, kinetic camouflage, surreal snakeskin, and ornamental meadow.

HONEST

Honest is just that, micro-fashion otherwise known as fast fashion has become more intolerable to the buying consumer, especially GEN Z. Conscious luxury and timeless fashion are more appreciated and acquired than season to season trends that don’t last after one season at times. Men’s traditional silhouettes are now conscious about detail and realness, aspiring-influencer aspects have given away to the man as they are. The drive behind men’s mood is for the consumer to feel certain and proud of their choices inspired by nature, minimalism, disconnecting, and cleanliness. The color palette includes coastal blue, open water, weathered indigo, drizzled, refreshing options with enriched browns. Men’s Contemporary includes landscape shirt, rustic classics, coated parka, and western shirt. Young Men’s involve soft coveralls, sailor sweater, denim parka, and pierced seersucker. Men’s accessories include treaded fisherman, braided leather – linen, double strap sandal, and crochet bucket. And men’s patterns include quilted chevron, equestrian branding, prairie patchwork, and watercolor landscape.

MOVEMENT

If there’s never been a better time to create a Movement, it’s now. After years of lockdown, uncertainty in the world, and threats of AI growing louder, our best weapon in this chaos is DMT (Dance Therapy Movement). This aesthetic with SS25 Men’s trends involve items that have the power to heel, we need a trusted form of expression to release our fears. The mood for Movement is inspired by femininity causing softness and fluidity, enhancing the experience of the consumer through design innovation and second skin. Color palette includes crazy glue, drizzle gray, purple tonic, terra cotta, hyper blush to soothe in super energy. Men’s contemporary items include lounge set, breezy suiting, refined athleisure, and light weight trench. Young men’s are shirt blazer, openwork sweater, mesh shirt, and baggy tailored shorts. Men’s key items include second skin slingback, expandable crossbody, lanyard attachment, and webbed trainer. And men’s key patterns are sea spray speckle, slow structure, photoreal horizon, and rhythmic rows.

DEVOTION

There’s certainly something to feel good about under Devotion, we are now seeking out brands where their beliefs are bigger than us. Traditions have been renewed, and connection to the earth has been reestablished. Brands have been heavily aware of social justice being threatened, so civil rights and human rights are taking center stage. Plus, GEN Z have thrown away micro-trends for trend agnostics, buying whatever they like on the rack without overthinking it. The mood with Devotion is centered around religious beliefs, finding modesty and iconography into this ceremonious approach. This stable color palette includes washed black, delicate grays, true black, weathered indigo, soil, glazed cherry, and egg yolk. Men’s contemporary includes marbled cardigan, awning stripe shorts, printed set, and sweater polo. Young men’s are embroidered pullover, patchwork jeans, blanket suit, and crochet vest. Men’s accessories include ornamental icons, upcycled tote, polished titanium, and suede mid calf boot. And men’s key patterns are pastoral patch, stitched stories, heirloom bloom, and modern relics.

CONCLUSION

As even older generations fight to stay young and modern, and maybe the next to next generation follow suit with young and modern, GEN Z men right now are reconnecting with traditions and authenticity. The pressure of keeping up with the Jones’s finally got GEN Z to converge the earth with AI. Then honesty got you the consumer to ditch fast-fashion for seasonless fashion that’s real. After you’ve been cooped up for several years, all you want to do is dance, just move to find a new purpose. But at the same time, you adapt brands who are also concerned about your rights, standing by beliefs that are bigger than you. The path to feeling young is fighting for the right to what makes you happy, you’ll gain a backstory about your mission, then you’ll become modernized through tradition.
