THIS IS THE FUTURE
For this coming FW 24/ 25, consider this the start of the last full year of how we know sourcing and idea concepts are done. Following those 365 days are a new historic era of how we produce fashion, embracing quality and digital assistance. The novelties of investment in fashion for next gen audiences will give away to investment as a constant need to evolve. Plus, quality and long-lasting fashion will now be the norm and fast-fashion fast out the door. As we seek further influence from AI and global cultures, MMGNET/ Fashion Snoops go into FW 25/ 26 with Material Sourcing Trends that promise a new era of fashion. This webinar session from Thursday covers four aesthetics such as Aether, Indulge, Essentialism, and Mythos.

AETHER
Being adaptable to change takes innovation and flexibility, leading you to moments of wonder once you step into a dream. Aether is all about stepping into a fantasy with futuristic textures and sources that are easily adjustable to environment. Setting the color tone for this new-age neutral world are crisp navy, cool mint, jupiter, washed black, steel, and such. Materials used to leap frog into the future are technical base layer knits, frosted shells, high frequency processed uppers, and engineered & insulated outer layers. Surfaces that transcend tomorrow are alieniquese molding, chromatic surface effects, heat transforming finishes, and waterless tanning solutions responding to earth’s needs.

INDULGE
Come with me, immerse yourself into textiles that are decadent and pushed to the forefront with sumptuous surfaces and visual textures that allure and seduce the eye. Touch can be very stimulating even on classic construction with mix and match details that are brought to life in new iterations. It is fair to celebrate design that activates and heightens the senses while being emotional at the highest level. This is Indulge, intended to bring childlike joy in these heavy times while testing the waters with AI. The color palette includes urgent orange, crushed cherry, emerald green, blazed brown, lazuli, and pop. Materials for this classical uplift are biofluff plant-based faux fur, supple wool suitings, elevated leather crafts, and lustrous viscose silkies. Surfaces for these enhanced silhouettes are fancy quilting stitches, rhinestoned & embellished, velveted handfeel, and textured & slick coatings.

ESSENTIALISM
There is such a thing as quiet luxury believe it or not, implementing little details into minimal items sought out in fashion. That’s what Essentialism is, seeking out luxury in a guilt-free manner where you can enjoy the finer things in life on an everyday basis. The whole idea behind enhancing detail is to reinforce minimalist codes that inspire thoughtful, functional, and meaningful items that are also fun. Within this little luxury also inspired by AI, the color palate includes soy sauce, pink noise, brown butter, blue star, lemon zest, and chili oil. Materials for essential luxury include double face Materra cotton knit, crisp & mercerized shirtings, cloud-inspired foams, and plush faux leathers. And surfaces for these playful subtleties are sharp color blocking, polished trims & closures, embossed & puff, and twisted knit techniques.

MYTHOS
If you truly want to go deep into what it is to be sustainable or what it is to be GEN Z, a socially conscious individual, then go into Mythos. The one thing about GEN Z which will start with SS25 with men and women’s are that authenticity plays a big role in where these sourcing roots come from. Cultural aesthetics from indigenous people and such are celebrated for their raw nature. Mythos is the only sourcing aesthetic in FW 25/ 26 that’s free of fantasy and AI, folk culture inspires meaningful consumption while restoration through sports and much brings people back together. The color palette truly goes deep into the grit of Mythos with opulent green, olive terrain, mineral blue, sun cloud, coral blaze, and wild poppy. Materials in this inevitability real deal include rws-certified wool fibers, altera plant-based leather, artistically composed knits, and recycled metals & earth-derived gemstones. And materials to bring out the ethnic inspiration are bespoke casting, naturally cultivated dyes, fil coupe textures, and slow crafted stitches.

CONCLUSION
Forget what you think you know about fashion, especially the sourcing trends that we’ve been using for a very long time. Spring and summer 2025 is clearly just a warmup compared to what’s unfolding next fall and winter 2025-2026 with a new generation of sourcing that inspires new digital and raw ideas. You can’t deny that while you’re roaming into a world of futuristic fashion that’s functional, fun, and luxurious in a daily basis, you’ll find yourself grounded with consciousness for the environment. We can’t even begin to tell the tale about the whiff of newness like never before come next year in fashion. The future will finally be in our hands, ready to adjust according to our habitat and our desired childlike fantasies. Throughout essential sustainability, there’s indulgent decadence with help from AI.
