JUST PRINT
Back in the day, if you wanted to get the news out, you’d just lay out a broadsheet, have tons of ink at hand, and start pressing the ink down on the paper. And boom, you had the news, on what would be called the newspaper. DANIEL PLUS LAUREN found it no different when DPL walked NY NOW today to find news told of a different sort, greeting cards. But it’s not even the last line, it’s greetings on a card that’s on a magnet, it’s the Quick Brown Fox Letterpress.

Here at the Javits Center in New York City, there’s a live printing press on site. Though, it’s not ink and broadsheet rolling hot off the press, this small ole-fashion printing press does one thing only, it prints out greetings. Lined up on display are over 100 greeting card magnets with words and art acting as one to give you a clever catchphrase to make your day. Words match art to give you an idea of a new take on simple meanings like “Happy Birthday” with a card of a bottle of beer with glass filled beer right next to it. That B-DAY wish becomes “Hoppiest Of Birthday Wishes”.

The simple phrase of “You’re Beautiful” with a greeting card and a magnet becomes 3 ole school coffee pots. Then comes the words that will change it all, “you’re brew-tiful”, everyday kinds word twisted into a witty meal of laughter out of items you never thought of. There’s also those meaningful phrases that don’t change their words around to be clever, they’re just paired up with what’s happening in the room at hand. “Get Well Soon” stays as it is, to give those wishful words even more depth, call in alphabet soup, and spell out “GET WELL SOON” in your soup bowl.

The Quick Brown Fox Letterpress offers more than just the feel of the first newspaper ever created thanks to Benjamin Franklin, they also make stickers, notepads, and wrapping paper. The company’s creator, Kate Murray, created the Quick Brown 10 years ago with just magnet greeting cards before branching out to outside accessories related or not. Quickpress is also colorful with their very own colored candles, notable colors are cyan and yellow. But taking a page from 2023, and the year of “Barbie” movie and “The Eras Tour” by Taylor Swift, there’s the world-famous color or magenta.

Here at NY NOW, this is the world-class destination for everyday accessories not just fashion, it’s fun items, toys, smart products, and such . A fine example, The Quick Brown Fox Letterpress stops the presses at anytime manually on-demand to make you a fun, clever, and cheerful greeting just to fit right in whatever the room reads. Surely, this colorful all around mom and pop print greeting company who served up delicious peanut butter cookies at their booth will serve up to fill the gaps left by an uncertain world that continues to hold their breath while there continues to be unrest.
