The Artists Are Starving
The music industry went to task on Wednesday via the Music Artists Coalition the United States Congress provide urgent relief to all popular music artists who have had to cancel or postpone concerts, tours, and festivals due to COVID19.
Cancelling concerts sends a devastating effect on recording artists who not only rely on album and record sales, but these tour dates to make a hefty amount of revenue, which supports artists and those working for artists all around.
Without the airline, hotel, or hospitality industry functioning due to CDC regulations recommending crowds of no more than 10 people, everyday life in the retail, service, and manufacturing industry cannot go on since social distancing is being taken serious to slow down the spread of coronavirus, leading those who work in the music industry to be without work, work that pays their bills, their rent, and the ability to eat.
So far, another avenue in the entertainment industry is doing something to help out their fellow performing artists, Rosie O’ Donnell is live-streaming a one night only reboot of “The Rosie O’ Donnell Show” this Sunday evening at 7 p.m. EDT on Broadway.com with an array of stars performing and appearing on livestream from locations they’re staying at, where it’ll benefit The Actor’s Fund.
