As COVID19 continues social distancing, and police brutality against the black community has caused destructive protests in cities nationwide, Public Theater New York, which was suppose to have a virtual benefit tonight to replace its annual physical event to support Public Theater, especially now in COVID19, announced late Sunday that it’s postponed tonight’s virtual event to a later date, out of respect for the blacks displaced by COVID19, and George Floyd, along with Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade, and Breonna Taylor, and all other blacks who lives were taken by the actions of a few white policemen.

Public Theater was founded as a theater for and by the people, proclaiming also that Black Lives Matter, standing in solidarity with black artists, black staff members, and the black community, the only tasks now besides words is to take action, and listen.

The Public Theater benefit titled “We Are One Public”, was suppose to have appearances by by James Corden, Beannie Feldstein, Alan Cumming, Kristin Chenoweth, Patti LuPone, Jane Krakowski, Andrew Rannells, Ali Stoker, Cynthia Nixon and Susan Stroman.

Plus, presenters for this event were included Antonio Banderas, Danielle Brooks, Glenn Close, Elvis Costello, Claire Danes, Danai Gurira, Anne Hathaway, Oscar Isaac, Nikki M. James, John Leguizamo, Audra McDonald, Sandra Oh, and Laura Benanti, who’s also been leading the charge in bringing Broadway to students affected by COVID19.
